About The Position

At Securian Financial, the internal title for this position is Creative Services Analyst. The role involves interpreting client revisions and instructions to make appropriate corrections within the given schedule and deadlines. The analyst works independently to complete design project updates and may own department projects and initiatives with limited supervision. A strong knowledge of design, typography, pre-press, and printing processes is essential. The position requires technical knowledge of Macintosh hardware and software, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms. The analyst will be the primary vendor contact throughout the entire estimate, print, and job completion process and will oversee the management of print/mail projects. Additionally, the role includes providing consultation to assess client needs regarding printing and mailing capabilities, materials, job status, scheduling, and costs, as well as supporting enterprise online storefronts for ordering standardized or personalized stationery.

Requirements

  • Proven design, photo retouching, production, and infographics creation skills.
  • Proficiency in publishing tools including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Express) and Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Proficiency in Digital Asset Management (DAM) expertise including conventions, tool navigation, and strategy implementation.
  • Proficiency in the Adobe Workfront platform for project management, workflow automation, task tracking, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of print, mail, and shipping processes, including offset, digital, and dimensional packaging.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Well-organized individual with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong process and critical thinking skills to increase efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Production and archiving of digital creative assets using various software.
  • Collaborates closely with Designers, Copywriters, Project Managers, and cross-functional teams on various initiatives.
  • Production of various components, such as illustrations, typography, and photography, into various digital formats.
  • Meets with designers, marketers, project managers, clients, and vendors regarding timelines, budgets, and project objectives.
  • Takes instruction from business partners and stakeholders for appropriate edits and corrections to projects within the given schedule.
  • Reviews proofs for accuracy and quality.
  • Monitors projects to adhere to established standards; ensures processes are followed and meet requirements.
  • Prepares digital assets or other related documents for upload to internal and external sources as needed.
  • Serves as department liaison between internal/external print and/or mail services and Securian's corporate, business line, and affiliate clients.
  • Produces materials involving the application of branding or marketing content that require a combination of internal and/or external printing and mailing requirements.
  • Assesses project needs and responds to questions regarding printing and mailing capabilities, materials, job status, scheduling, and costs.
  • Evaluates and recommends internal/external print/mail options.
  • Obtains and documents cost estimates for potential prepress, printing, and mailing projects.
  • Partners with budget coordinator to build estimates, acquire required purchase orders, and finalize invoices.
