About The Position

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY: Assist operations in achieving success by supporting initiatives that improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance overall processes. Actively engage with team members to identify process improvement opportunities, promoting ownership and ensuring the long-term sustainability of continuous improvement initiatives. SECONDARY RESPONSBILITY: Project Support: Support process improvement project teams using Lean Six Sigma and A3 methodologies. Waste Reduction: Learn to identify non-value-added tasks and assist in removing waste within processes. Visual Management: Assist in implementing and maintaining visual management tools, such as standard work, 5S, and visual management boards to improve Team member awareness. Data Analysis: Facilitate the collection of data to aid the team in root cause analysis. Goal Alignment: Ensure daily activities align with company goals related to safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Collaboration: Maintain a driven sense of urgency to achieve goals and demonstrate a passion for Continuous Improvement. Team Connection: Ability to connect with Team members and assist in obtaining buy-in for new changes. Reporting: Provide analytical insight and evaluation of the organization's progress under supervision. Opportunity Identification: Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and review improvement ideas with management. Project Lifecycle: Assist with projects from idea generation to execution with the goal of improving productivity. Time Management: Balance multiple project tasks and meet deadlines. Implementation Support: Work with process owners and project team members through phases of planning, implementation, and control. Standard Work: Work with area leaders to help ensure that processes are measured, monitored, and controlled through Standard work.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business).
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications—Word, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and communicate to others topics such as company policies, employment related legal documents, company benefits, etc. and write legibly in English.
  • Must be able to understand and speak clearly, and communicate in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to or coursework involving CI (Continuous Improvement) principles or lean manufacturing concepts is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems is a plus.
  • Spanish-speaking ability a plus, but not required.
