Team Summary The Product Technician position is responsible for all aspects of production and related duties in the operations of the Resin facility. This position will be cross-trained to provide coverage in all areas as outlined below. This description encompasses temporary, contingent, and FTE workers as well. The Product Technician reports to the Production Supervisor of the Liquid Resin Facility. Job Summary The primary duties of the Product Technician consist of, but are not limited to, the following: Resin Blend Duties Monitor the reaction inhibitor level, and shelf life. Document inhibitor replacement. Monitor the Glycol level in the disperser reservoir. Notify the Maintenance tech if service is needed. Conditioning raw materials in the hot chamber, or paraffin tanks, up to 48 hours in advance, as dictated by the production schedule. Identifying, and weighing the proper raw materials, according to the blend instructions. Following mixing instructions, which include order, and area of entry, mixing times, mixing temperatures, agitator speeds, and necessary cleaning-flushing. Properly label all blend containers, with the provided labels, and properly dispose/recycle all waste as directed. Perform any documentation necessary for inventory control, and return to Office Manager. Set-up the computer for various blends and control with the "Touch Screen", or mouse. Dissolve Blend Duties Same responsibilities as C, D, E, F and G under Resin Blend Duties, with the added responsibility of applying the correct vacuum pressure to the mixing vessel. Monitor Dissolver oil level. Notify Maintenance tech if service is needed. Shipping & Receiving Duties Unloading lab approved raw materials, which may require entering a trailer with a fork-lift, or filling storage containers with liquids from a bulk trailer. Loading finished products, which may require entering a trailer with a fork-lift. Inspecting the placement, securing, packaging, identification, and quantity of all incoming, and outgoing materials. Report non-conformances to the production manager. Update inventory control systems. Utilize barcoding system as required. Scan barcode label to place in inventory & scan again when product is shipped. Limit shelf life issues by properly managing inventory rotation, and storage temperature. (PRODUCT TECHNICIAN) Packaging & Warehousing Properly label all pails w/product information and inventory barcoding. Efficiently, and accurately fill pails with the proper material and quantity, and secure the lids. Securely stack pails onto pallets, and shrink wrap if required. Include inventory barcode label on pallets. Transport pallets to the proper area of the warehouse, following any rotation guidelines. Properly package catalyst by assembling vented box, adding bags of catalyst, measurement utensil, and literature to the box, affixing barcode label and stacking on pallet. Package any other accessory items into the appropriate packaging. Tank Cleaning Clean tanks, agitators, discharges, and valves as required for product changes, or product build-up. Inspect any valve seals for wear or solvent degrading. Recycle cleaning solvent, and properly dispose of any non-recyclable material. Properly label all solvent storage containers. Sample Making: Create product and system samples to be used for sales and marketing purposes, (requires a high level of detail to create a professional, finished end product) Construct specialty samples as assigned by RTD management Package and ship samples to designated locations QA Testing Perform Quality Assurance testing as specified on the mixing instructions. Notify the QC engineer of any non-conformances. Follow the QC engineer's instructions to correct any non-conformances, and perform QA testing again. Facility & Grounds Upkeep Duties will include everything from outside ground, and yard maintenance, to inside cleaning and dusting. Other duties may include routine painting, or periodic cleaning of exhaust fans, filters, or other air handling equipment. (PRODUCT TECH) Safety Comply with all safety regulations and policies Utilize all prescribed PPE (personal protective equipment), at all times in designated areas (such as safety glasses, welding hoods, gloves, cutting goggles, respirators, shoes, vests, etc.) Observe all safety requirements (such as anti-static, lock out/tag out, hot work permits, forklift seatbelt, etc.) Participate in safety meetings Immediately report safety hazards to appropriate management Proactively look for safety improvements and bring to the attention of supervisors and/or the corporate standards manager Other Areas of Responsibility Provide backup production-related duties at membrane facility, as needed. Serve on action teams and committees as needed. Comply with all environmental regulations. Comply with the SIPLAST Quality System and its provisions.
