BAE Systems is looking for a Product Support Program Engineering Manager (PEM). The business focus area of the position is the Regional Business Aircraft (RBA) and Air Transport (AT) Products and Programs in its Fort Wayne, IN facility. This position will report to the Air Transport Market Program Director. Internal and external customer relationships are important in this role and the PEM is considered to be a primary touch point for airlines, Maintenance Repair Organizations (MROs), aircraft OEMs and flight control system integrators.The PEM establishes and manages an effective team to support mostly commercial aircraft aftermarket programs to meet established cost, schedule and technical requirements. The PEM provides inputs to technical product support activities on proposals. Works with Production Program Manager(s), Service Center Program Manager(s) and relevant support functions in the execution of assigned projects and programs. The PEM will also be responsible to identify Aftermarket Value Added Services (VAS) derived from product obsolescence and field reliability improvements to create overhauls, fleet upgrade campaigns and trade-ins resulting in BAE Systems Sales and Revenue growth. VAS projects will require reliability data analysis, understanding of product structure and make inputs in the creation of business cases supporting “Request for Bid Approvals” (RBA’s) internal to BAE Systems. Interaction with OEM airframe customer support and fleet customer support will be required to determine fleet back fit and forward fit compatibility to implement VAS projects. Some travel may be required, to promote new business capture opportunities and lead field reliability communications with customers.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 7+ years’ work in technical discipline to include 5+ years of relevant work experience in the support of commercial aircraft technology.
  • Ability to lead development of reliability improvement and product life extension solutions such as overhauls, including inputs to create compelling business cases for customer marketing.
  • Coordinate Component Maintenance Manuals development, Help Desk responses and implementation of design engineering changes as deliverables to the BAE Systems’ Aftermarket Products and Services.
  • Ability to support commercial and military product/service offerings, including inputs to business cases for internal resource allocation and proposal approval
  • Requires understanding organizational roles/responsibilities to maintain compliance with commercial agreements and contracts
  • Willing and able to travel to support customer and inter-site needs.

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 10+ years’ work in technical discipline to include 7+ years of relevant work experience in the support of commercial aircraft technology.
  • Ability to lead development of reliability improvement and product life extension solutions such as overhauls, including inputs to create compelling business cases for customer marketing
  • Ability to create commercial and military product/service offerings, develop tactical/strategic business cases for internal resource allocation and proposal approval
  • Represent the business in industry conferences, standards development, working groups, and accident investigations.
  • Requires demonstrated experience excercising discretion and independent judgment in the evaluation of organizational compliance to commercial agreements and contracts
  • Strong skills to communicate technical and business information both orally and in writing
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving face-to-face and remote interaction; coordinating and negotiating with technical leadership and support personnel, and deescalating conflict with customers and suppliers
  • Strong computer skills. Including ORACLE and MIcrosoft Business Intelligence tools
  • Willing and able to travel to support customer and inter-site needs.
