As a Product Researcher on the Product Research team, you will support the development of user-centered products by conducting qualitative and mixed-methods research. You will work closely with product managers, designers, and data analysts to uncover user needs, validate product concepts, and inform design decisions. Your research will help ensure that products are intuitive, effective, and aligned with user expectations. You will contribute to the full product lifecycle, from discovery to evaluation, and help shape the future of our product portfolio. To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the Software Engineer will play a key role: working within our legacy application as we update it to a cloud-native platform which follows modern design standards. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. To deliver on the organization’s responsibility, the Product Researcher position conducts the following: Conduct user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and field studies to gather insights Synthesize research findings into actionable recommendations for product teams Collaborate with data analysts to integrate qualitative and quantitative insights Support product discovery and ideation through user-centered research Create personas, journey maps, and other research artifacts Advocate for the user in product discussions and design reviews Assist in prioritizing research needs based on product goals and timelines Stay current with UX research methods and tools Participate in training to enhance research and communication skills You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in user experience research or product research
  • Experience conducting interviews, usability tests, and surveys
  • Experience with research tools and platforms
  • U.S. Citizen
  • If you are offered this position, you will be required to provide extensive personal information to obtain and maintain a suitability or determination of eligibility for a Confidential/Secret or Top Secret security clearance as a condition of your employment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1+ years of experience leveraging AI tools in the software development (or product) lifecycle in order to improve quality and efficiency
  • Experience in healthcare or government sectors
  • Knowledge of design thinking and product development lifecycle
  • Solid leadership and communication skills
