About The Position

Verisk is seeking a strategic and execution-focused Product Owner to drive continued innovation and platform evolution for the life and annuity market. This is an opportunity to own product direction for a growing platform and make a meaningful impact on how insurers and annuity providers serve their customers. As a Product Owner, you will be the bridge between customer needs and technical execution. You will translate market needs into a clear product vision and manage a high-velocity development backlog to bring that vision to life.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment.
• Deep understanding of the Life and Annuity industry.
• Experience with Jira or similar tools and a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices concepts, and data formats such as XML/JSON.
• Exceptional ability to communicate across business and technical stakeholders and build consensus across teams.
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, managing competing priorities, and making trade-off decisions in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with insurance technology solutions preferred.
• FAST experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Product Discovery: Collaborate with external customers and internal stakeholders to identify pain points and validate demand for new products or enhancements to existing products.
• Backlog Management: Own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog. Translate complex requirements into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for our engineering teams, balancing new development with ongoing platform improvements.
• Strategic Roadmap: Define the "what" and the "why" behind product features, ensuring the development team is always working on the items with the highest business impact. Partner with leadership and customer teams to define go-to-market strategy and provide input on customer roadmaps.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Serve as the primary point of contact for product progress, providing transparency to leadership, and ensuring the final product meets the specific regulatory and technical needs of the life insurance sector.
• Sales Enablement: Support product demos and sales conversations as needed.
• Release Management: Work closely with developers and architects from initial concept through production release and post-launch iteration. Engage with Sales and Delivery teams to ensure smooth customer delivery.
