About The Position

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is seeking a Product Operations Manager to join our Product Operations Team. Product Operations enables the achievement of product and business outcomes. Product Operations is responsible for process improvement design, tooling, automation, and leading all related cross-functional work and communication in support of our Product Teams. We are seeking a Product Operations Manager to drive process optimization, governance, and continuous improvement throughout the Product Development Lifecycle with a specific focus on Go-To-Market (GTM) and Post-Launch Success functions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, refining, and standardizing processes that enable Product Operations Managers (POMs) to effectively support GTM and post-launch efforts. You will ensure POMs are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, and knowledge to execute these initiatives consistently and efficiently. You will lead the creation and implementation of standardized frameworks and best practices to ensure alignment with cross-functional stakeholders and operational consistency across product teams. This includes developing training materials, hosting workshops, and promoting efficient management of timelines, resources, and deliverables. You will also establish clear governance structures to ensure all stakeholders follow agreed-upon processes and adhere to quality standards. Collaborating closely with POMs and engaging with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that GTM processes remain consistent across the product portfolio. You will also lead cross-functional training efforts to drive awareness and adoption of best practices, empowering teams to execute initiatives with greater alignment and efficiency. Through ongoing support and guidance, you will empower teams to overcome challenges, maintain transparency, and drive product initiatives that deliver measurable success and long-term value for the business and its customers.

Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in product management/product operations/product growth or related experience. Including:
  • Driving product adoption and growth initiatives, ensuring successful user engagement and expansion.
  • Familiarity with product adoption best practices, tools, and techniques to optimize product adoptionand customer retention.
  • Leading and implementing process changes at scale, including managing change effectively across teams and ensuring smooth transitions
  • Advanced ability to lead multiple concurrent, high-value projects to successful goal achievement, demonstrating in-depth knowledge and experience.
  • Highly proficient in collaborating effectively, resolving interpersonal issues blocking project success, and facilitating team member contributions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of business objectives, products being supported, cross-product implications, and cross-functional roles and dynamics.
  • Adept at working with tooling as part of the role, using selected tools as required to support function and SBU processes, including advanced skills with Pendo.
  • Advanced skills in time management, conflict resolution, timely decision-making, problem-solving, facilitation/communications, negotiation, risk identification/mitigation, adapting to change, delegation, and adaptation to change
  • Can work remotely or from an Applied Systems office.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a leadership role within product operations or technical program management, ideally within a technology or software company, is a plus
  • Insurance industry experience
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Familiarity with other Product Management tools, such as Jira Product Discovery, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, and customer feedback tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high-priority, cross-functional projects related to process optimization and governance, ensuring alignment and consistency across Go-To-Market (GTM) and Post-Launch Success initiatives, ultimately driving desired business outcomes
  • Effectively collaborate with individuals across various functions and SBUs at all levels, fostering a cooperative and productive work environment
  • Define and prioritize milestones to streamline processes for POMs, ensuring timely delivery and keeping stakeholders informed of any progress or changes.
  • Develop and oversee processes and governance for incorporating metrics and required instrumentation into GTM and Post Launch processes, driving teams toward actions and outcome achievement
  • Proactively identifies and communicates potential risks/issues, assessing their probability and potential impact, and develops strategies to manage risks.
  • Communicate critical issues and decisions to leadership, driving alignment and ensuring action is taken to maintain consistent governance of processes.
  • Resolves cross-functional issues within projects and programs effectively, demonstrating leadership without positional authority
  • Defines, documents, and establishes best practices for product operations, working with the team to implement standardized processes that enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Take ownership of the tools supporting GTM and Post-Launch efforts, leading their implementation, training, and adoption, while proactively identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement.
  • Mentor team members, acting as a resource for colleagues with less experience, and enhancing their professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
