Our talented fashion design team — the Nordstrom Product Group — develops, designs, produces and sources 50-plus private Nordstrom labels. A day in the life… Create and implement merchandising plans to achieve performance goals for a specific brand and/or merchandise category. Deliver product performance results based on strategic goals and budget expectations Define seasonal, annual and multi-year strategies that identify future opportunities and trends that support the merchandising strategy for the division Execute successful product line presentations that align with customer needs. Deliver product performance results based on strategic goals and budget expectations while demonstrating in season agility. Conduct seasonal competitive analysis including recommending updates of brand price bands Hire and supervise an efficient and effective team that meets the needs of each functional area. Coach team through performance feedback, goal-setting and development plans Collaborate with Brand leadership teams and NMG to achieve brand expectations

Requirements

  • 7+ years of retail buying, merchandising or planning experience
  • Experience initiating, recommending and implementing merchandise strategies
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply market intelligence
  • Understanding of retail and the service environment of Nordstrom
  • Fluency in MS Windows and Office suite
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills
