About The Position

M-Files is seeking a hands-on Product Marketing Manager to lead Competitive Intelligence, with a strong focus on AI-driven capabilities and market positioning. This role will play a critical part in identifying competitive opportunities and risks as well as closing competitive gaps, particularly in AI, and ensuring we effectively position M-Files in a rapidly evolving market. This is a high-visibility role with impact across Product, Sales, and Executive leadership. The ideal candidate has 3-4 years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, product strategy, consulting, or a related field. Familiarity with DMS/ECM software (including from a Services or customer-facing role) is highly valued. As AI rapidly reshapes the information management landscape, M-Files is sharpening its competitive edge with proactive market monitoring. This role will: Identify where competitors are advancing in AI and adjacent capabilities Inform product roadmap decisions with structured competitive insights Enable Sales with clear, actionable competitive positioning Provide visibility to leadership on evolving market threats and opportunities

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in product marketing, competitive intelligence, product strategy, consulting, or similar roles
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex insights into clear recommendations
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in AI-related technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Hands-on, self-starter mindset - comfortable building processes from the ground up

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the DMS/ECM market
  • Background in enterprise software or B2B SaaS
  • Experience creating sales enablement materials (battlecards, competitive decks, win/loss summaries)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining a structured competitive intelligence program including win/loss
  • Analyzing competitors’ product capabilities, roadmap signals, AI positioning, and go-to-market strategies
  • Monitoring, aggregating, synthesizing and communicating market trends and emerging AI use cases relevant to M-Files
  • Delivering clear, actionable insights to product management, go-to-market teams and leadership
  • Assessing competitive positioning in AI-driven automation, content intelligence, and enterprise information management
  • Identifying competitive gaps and opportunities aligned with Board-level priorities
  • Partnering with Product Management to translate findings into roadmap recommendations
  • Creating and maintaining battlecards, objection-handling guides, and competitive messaging
  • Supporting Sales with deal-specific competitive insights when needed
  • Conducting internal training sessions to improve competitive fluency
  • Acting as the bridge between Product, Marketing, Sales, and Services on competitive topics
  • Ensuring messaging reflects current product capabilities and roadmap direction
  • Sharing structured insights with leadership on competitive risks and opportunities
