Position Overview: The Product Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, lifecycle management, and commercial performance of the company’s chemical blending and packaged product portfolio. This role serves as the critical link between commercial objectives, customer requirements, regulatory compliance, and technical capabilities. This role will drive product strategy and roadmap development by leveraging market intelligence, customer insights, operational capabilities, and financial analysis. Working cross-functionally with Sales, R&D, Operations, Regulatory, Procurement, and Finance, this role ensures products are competitive, compliant, operationally feasible, and aligned with company growth objectives.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in product management, project management, technical marketing, or industrial manufacturing
  • Demonstrated success leading product launches, managing product P&L, and driving measurable business outcomes
  • Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills; experience working in matrixed organizations
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset
  • Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies, including pricing, positioning, and channel enablement
  • Ability to travel as required

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced business training with demonstrated ability to link product decisions to financial outcomes and value creation
  • Experience in specialty chemicals, industrial manufacturing, or other technically complex B2B markets
  • Proven success in a private equity–backed or high-growth environment, with a focus on margin expansion and portfolio optimization
  • Hands-on leadership of cross-functional NPD efforts involving R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams
  • Strong Voice of Customer (VOC) expertise with direct customer engagement and use-case validation

Responsibilities

  • Lead customer-centered product strategy by partnering with customers, Sales, and Engineering to translate user insights into actionable product roadmaps and clear, buildable requirements.
  • Own the New Product Development (NPD) process end-to-end, from business case development through pilot testing and market validation.
  • Reduce NPD cycle times by standardizing feasibility, validation, and global launch documentation.
  • Partner with R&D to translate customer workflows into differentiated formulations, packaging, and application solutions that drive market expansion and competitive positioning.
  • Identify and quantify new growth opportunities through Voice of Customer (VOC) insights and market intelligence; develop investment cases to support entry into high-margin markets.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Commercial teams to scale efficiently and improve on-time delivery performance.
  • Lead portfolio rationalization initiatives to simplify SKUs, optimize cost structures, and improve gross margins.
  • Align executive and functional stakeholders on demand trends and market insights to guide portfolio planning, inventory strategy, and operational priorities.
  • Own Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) activities using 80/20 analysis and profitability frameworks.
  • Establish, track, and analyze key product KPIs (revenue, margin, share, cost) to inform prioritization, trade-off decisions, and resource allocation.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and channel partners to shape differentiated value propositions and inform roadmap priorities.
  • Lead go-to-market execution, including pricing, positioning, and channel enablement strategies.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to launch growth initiatives that expand share in core markets and capture high-value emerging opportunities.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally, providing product expertise to support sales opportunities and translate market needs into actionable product direction.
