About The Position

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Product Manager to join the Wiremold Team in West Hartford, CT. Responsible for comprehensive, customer-centric strategy of designated product lines: product development, go-to-market strategy, operational performance & long-term strategic mapping. Main Activities: Product Development: Innovation: relentless pursuit of innovation relevant to our brand and core customer base via regular field visits, customer interaction (distributors, contractors, subs, specifiers, end-users) & in-depth knowledge of competitive landscape; initiate research; Maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements to maintain and grow market share Track emerging trends related to growth opportunities, technology advancement and investment opportunities as it relates to designated product lines Market development of new and existing products into the existing business structure Defining product requirements, market sizing Ongoing partnership with engineering and advanced manufacturing through development process to define design and determine manufacturability and sourcing needs Outline investment strategy to support product line manufacturing requirements Rationalization and discontinuation as needed Go-To-Market Strategy: Develop a pricing/program strategy for designated product lines In partnership with MarComm, develop a messaging strategy, outline investments needed for promotional activities such as catalog development, sell sheets, product bulletins, campaigns & digital strategy- for product launches AND post launch support Develop and deliver training for the Sales team Develop and nurture relevant partnerships to designated product categories Operational Performance: Prepare and lead monthly SO&P meetings for designated product line- monitor & act on inventory levels, regular evaluation of sales dashboards and opportunities that would impact inventory, production capacity, service rates, production costs to meet or beat corporate targets Collaborate with operations to identify efficiency opportunities Long-term strategy: Lead the 5-year vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable growth, market share and profitability Keep an eye on the market: monitor Salesforce opportunities, attend trade events, competitive benchmarking, initiate & conduct research into long-term trends & customer needs Identify and perform due diligence on M&A potential targets that fuel long-term strategy Budget planning : monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget Leadership : Representation of the brand in regular presentations to executive leadership, sales conferences and customer interactions Champion product lines throughout the organization and at customer-facing events where possible Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Requirements

  • BS in Marketing, Business or related is required
  • 3-5 years experience in marketing or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years with explicit product management experience
  • Explicit experience with voice of customer- collecting and making actionable
  • Proven success in a highly collaborative and cross functional environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities
  • Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Advanced excel skills – pivot tables, data analysis
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.
  • Ability to use internet and web-based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Must be an effective listener, able to maintain focus extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business
