About The Position

About the Role april is looking for a Product Manager to own a key customer segment within our embedded tax platform. In this role, you'll own the entire customer journey—from user experience and value delivery to partner success. Working in april's squad model, you'll set strategy, define the roadmap, build requirements, and collaborate closely with your dedicated engineering team and designer to ship products that transform how millions manage their taxes and finances. Team members residing within the New York City metropolitan area must maintain a minimum on-site presence of three days per week. From filing to planning to onboarding, april's white-labeled tools bring real-time tax intelligence into the platforms people already use, helping users understand the impact of every paycheck, equity transaction, or income shift, and stay on top of tax payments throughout the year. Built to handle even the most complex tax situations, april's AI-powered tax engine ingests data directly from partner apps to deliver accurate outcomes in record time—making tax planning and filing more connected, contextual, and accessible than ever. Requirements

• 6+ years of Product Management experience
• Background in FinTech, payments, insurance tech, legal tech, or finance-adjacent tech companies
• Strong bias toward execution and shipping
• Ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels with ease—comfortable diving into technical complexity and day-to-day operations
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility with time zone collaboration + early start times
• Experience as an independent operator who can own a vertical end-to-end
• Experience with B2B2C embedded applications
• Track record building consumer-facing products with a focus on user empathy and delight
• Domain expertise in tax planning, advisory, or related disciplines

Responsibilities

• Lead and own product strategy and execution for your assigned segment, guiding products through full-cycle development from ideation to launch to iteration that impact millions of taxpayers
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, prioritize roadmap, and drive daily execution through hands-on collaboration
• Deeply understand both enterprise partners and end-user needs to identify the right problems to solve and ensure we're delivering meaningful value
• Document and communicate product decisions, strategy, and roadmap to create organizational alignment and drive informed decision-making
• Balance long-term product vision with tactical execution, leveraging technical depth to ship relentlessly and iterate based on impact
