About The Position

The Product Manager position is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, family owned company that is a leader in the small appliances industry. The candidate will play a key role in the development and implementation of global product innovation and marketing strategy for our Rental and Rug Doctor businesses. They will work closely with other departments to launch and commercialize new products and manage our current business. This role will drive rental, ecommerce and commercial product plans inclusive of channel management strategy, pricing, P&L management and point of purchase merchandising. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience managing category business results for consumer products, and a BA/BS in marketing or related field of study. Candidates must demonstrate proven experience with consumer program development, line extension development and sales, as well as leadership of cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Marketing or Business
  • 4-6 years in consumer products
  • Experience in product development or customer marketing for consumer products
  • Proven experience with consumer program development, line extension development and sales
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to visualize data to understand trends and tell stories
  • Experience developing and presenting business cases to leadership

Responsibilities

  • In conjunction with marketing director and sales, develops line objectives, channel management and distribution strategies. Work with key accounts to develop and improve product line productivity, gross profit and assist in maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • In conjunction with sourcing, work to find appropriate product opportunities and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develops and manages appropriate merchandising, packaging and point of purchase for both product and rental lines.
  • Analyzes, tracks and measures sales and share data to identify insights to drive business performance.
  • Monitors, measures and optimizes promotional pricing strategy to optimize topline growth and bottom-line results.
  • Leads category business reporting to align cross functional partners in business results and identify needs continuous optimization of in market plans.
  • Monitors competitive strategic and tactical activities. Develops appropriate strategies and/or new launches.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with top management, project team members, manufacturing units, and all other Associates.
  • Works closely with other team members of the product business unit team and other support groups to meet timelines and budget objectives.
  • Be aware of the voice of the consumer on all projects to ensure that their needs are addressed. Utilize consumer insights to drive positioning, copy and claims.
  • Understand and be held accountable for all the category’s goals (including profitability). In conjunction with marketing director, develop and execute tactical initiatives and implement strategy to meet or exceed these goals.
  • Understand and assist in the annual plan and update development process.
  • Is available for marketing and sales projects as needed.
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
