About The Position

The Product Manager for IoT/Electronics at Copeland is responsible for driving the product vision, strategy, and lifecycle management of technology-powered products within the Cold Chain sector. This role involves collaboration with global sales, support, and engineering teams to enhance customer engagement and maximize product value while managing costs and improving gross margins. The position requires a strong understanding of market trends, customer needs, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years working on technology-powered products in roles such as product manager, product designer, engineer, data analyst, or user researcher.
  • Ability to solve complex problems using sound judgment and data-informed narratives.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn across multiple business functions including engineering, design, finance, operations, sales, or marketing.
  • Expertise in product discovery and structuring testing plans to validate assumptions.
  • Experience with growth initiatives leading to stronger market penetration.
  • Willingness to work with teams across multiple time zones.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with electronic products.
  • Experience launching multiple products, especially IoT products.
  • Experience in the Marine Transportation industry.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as cellular communication, Bluetooth, IP networks, RS-232, and proprietary protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Transportation hardware.
  • Aligns hardware roadmap with software roadmap.
  • Collaborates with other Cold Chain verticals to align roadmaps.
  • Develops and drives deep knowledge of the business, understanding current business goals and stakeholders.
  • Ensures product team can connect the product to its customers and present the value proposition.
  • Develops and executes product OKRs/KPIs aligned with commercial business objectives.
  • Drives and builds internal innovation capabilities and champions a culture of creativity and learning.
  • Ensures new product or feature development aligns with business strategy and goals.
  • Responsible for signing off product and detailed feature requirements.
  • Develops business cases for new products and enhancements with cross-functional teams.
  • Prioritizes work across the portfolio including new features, improvements, and maintenance.
  • Consults on technical and business decisions, understanding trade-offs.
  • Oversees product training framework for service/sales and go-to-market functions.
  • Represents product in engagements with OEMs and third parties, discussing technical specifications.
  • Works with marketing communications to develop marketing materials.
  • Understands market trends and assesses competitive strategies.
  • Conducts technology and market environment research as needed.
  • Develops insights about user interaction and product functionalities.
  • Identifies riskiest assumptions and key questions for product development.
  • Determines optimal product portfolio to meet customer needs and operational goals.
  • Executes product lifecycle management plans.
