About The Position

Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI) provides professional portfolio management services to Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firms and wealth managers who service individuals, families, family offices and small endowments and foundations. VPI specializes in ‘direct indexing ’, primarily through custom tax managed equity portfolios. Core Responsibilities: Leads in-depth analysis of features & functionality associated with the performance engine . Consults and advises key stakeholders, acts as subject matter and technical expert , identifies and resolves complex performance issues. O versight and review of daily pre- and post-tax performance calculations for all VPI accounts. You will identify and resolve issues with account performance, and own all composite performance management, reporting, and compliance processes, including VPI’s annual Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) certification. Key Interface with VPI’s engineering teams to improve and drive further automation Works closely with operations and client facing teams to help p roduces and present accurate performance measurement, attribution and analytical responses to complex queries and requests from internal and external clients. Serves as subject matter expert for global teams and collaborates with internal and external partners to support global performance analysis teams. Leverages strong industry knowledge to support relationship management. Leads digital product management activities for multiple digital products, or one strategic product. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience. Partners with stakeholders to resolve production and implementation issues in a timely manner, and supports/drives escalations where required to enable rapid delivery. Leads the planning, development and implementation of new features as it relates to performance engine . Defines and analyzes markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans. Employs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience. Participates in and provides recommendations for ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities. Ability to work independently with large volumes of data; ability to organize, clean, join and analyze large data sets. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years relevant work experience, preferably in wealth or asset management
  • Excellent with MS Excel
  • Undergraduate degree

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience and demonstrable familiarity with risk measurement, performance measurement and indexing preferred
  • Proficiency with Python, R, MATLAB or similar data analysis tools highly desired
  • Familiar with the CFA Institute’s Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) preferred
