About The Position

Agilix Solutions is seeking a Product Manager. This position will be responsible for driving the APR’s business strategy to accelerate growth in the Smart Components businesses. These businesses include industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, controllers, distributed I/O and networks. This position will be the technical liaison between Rockwell Automation and the distributor, provide technical, marketing, and commercial leadership for sales growth, be responsible to supporting the commercial plan for the Smart Components businesses and take a lead role in developing a competency plan to ensure that support functions (inside/outside sales) are adequately prepared to maximize share gain for the Smart Components businesses in their APR(s). The Smart Components specialist will be held accountable on the revenue performance of the assigned product segments. This role will report to the Automation Team Leader.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering –OR– equivalent combination of skills, experience, or education
  • 3 years of experience / knowledge applying RA’s products or equivalent competitive solutions
  • Travel to customers within assigned geography will be required
  • Remain open to ideas; integrates multiple perspectives in decision-making.
  • Retain and convey a positive attitude in challenging circumstances
  • Good technical writing & presentation skills with ability to present RA’s value proposition to mid / large size groups of customers (external and internal) both commercially and technically.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and be self-motivated

Nice To Haves

  • TÜV or exida certification for Functional Safety is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Outcome-based selling experience with understanding of industrial business drivers
  • Be held accountable for creation and execution of plans to exceed growth targets in business revenue and management objectives
  • Be comfortable influencing customer on value of RA solution vs competition
  • Act as a trusted partner to the business units to provide productive voice of the customer and constructive feedback
  • Coordinate sales teaming efforts, including Automation Specialist, required to identify and close account conversions and project sales opportunities
  • Able to motivate, support and lead inside and outside sales reps to proactively implement business plan.
  • Strong presentation skills in group and individual situations.
  • Strong arbitration skills to effectively listen, communicate, and gain consensus
  • Acts courageously by sharing viewpoints openly and directly with others, providing relevant and timely information and feedback, as required.
  • Seek out and embrace relevant perspectives when assessing a situation or making a decision; demonstrate clear understanding of multiple viewpoint
  • Serve as domain expert around Connected Components business and continuously build competency
  • Ability to speak with customers, demonstrating technical expertise while instilling confidence and credibility
  • Demonstrates the ability to describe and apply the fundamentals of industrial components, motor control, sensors, safety, condition monitoring, and machine-level controls / architectures (controllers, distributed I/O and networks) in manufacturing environments.
  • Have core competency for the current technology as it relates to the assigned products.
  • Able to identify and demonstrate technology solutions for customer applications.
  • Willingness and desire to participate in ongoing training to maintain technical competency in their product and complimentary product areas.
  • Able to analyze market conditions, develop an annual business plan and coordinate its implementation.
  • Able to administer and implement marketing, promotion programs, and product launches from Rockwell Automation product businesses.
  • Ability to understand market conditions, competitive forces, determine market share, and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to attack competition and grow market penetration
  • Ability to define and grow new markets for emerging product technologies.
  • Shares distributed I/O responsibility and coordinates customer activities with Automation Specialist to ensure the right resource is engaged for given opportunities
  • Participate in account planning and sales strategy focusing on new customer acquisition and existing customer expansion. Lead the sales force in promoting the solution to existing and new customers with presentations, demonstrations, technical pre-sales and post-sales support.
  • Provides selection and design advice for most assigned products in common configurations and leverage the proper Rockwell Automation resources, as needed.
  • Able to differentiate products/solutions from competition and promote the differences as meaningful benefits to the customer.
