About The Position

Bankjoy is a Y Combinator and Bessemer Venture Partner backed FinTech startup. We are changing the way community banks and credit unions do business, enabling them to become tech-driven and digital first. Bankjoy provides modern digital banking products including mobile banking, online banking, online account opening, loan origination, and conversational AI. Our mission is to revolutionize banking tech infrastructure by leading digital transformation at financial institutions — big and small. We are seeking a highly technical and strategic Product Manager III to own and drive the strategy and execution of Bankjoy’s next-generation business banking platform. This role will be responsible for defining product vision, shaping the roadmap, and ensuring strong execution across a complex and evolving product area. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Client Success teams to deliver scalable, secure, and compliant business banking capabilities that meet the needs of financial institutions. The Product Manager III will also provide leadership and mentorship to more junior product managers, helping to strengthen Bankjoy’s product organization as the company continues to scale. You will be expected to develop deep domain expertise quickly, operate effectively in a fast-moving environment, and make sound decisions in situations where foundational product and architectural decisions are still being defined. The ideal candidate is someone who is comfortable working at both the strategic and technical levels — capable of defining product direction while also engaging directly in detailed technical discussions with engineering teams.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience in financial services or B2B fintech, with exposure to business banking, payments, or core banking platforms.
  • Strong technical fluency with APIs, system integrations, and product architecture discussions.
  • Deep knowledge of payment rails including ACH, wire transfers, card networks, and real-time payments.
  • Experience working with payment compliance requirements, security frameworks, and access control design.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration experience working with Engineering, Sales, Implementation, and Client Success teams.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with credit unions or community banks.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Q2, Apiture, Temenos, Fiserv, or similar digital banking vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for Bankjoy’s next-generation business banking platform, from vision through execution.
  • Define and prioritize the product roadmap in close partnership with Engineering, Design, Sales, and Client Success teams.
  • Translate complex business and technical requirements into clear product specifications and well-defined user stories.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and client needs.
  • Continuously evaluate product performance and adjust priorities to ensure strong delivery and long-term product success.
  • Lead product discussions related to payment systems including ACH, wire transfers, card networks, and real-time payments.
  • Ensure compliance with payment regulations and security standards across all product capabilities.
  • Develop and manage permission and access control frameworks for enterprise platforms.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to define APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Ensure compliance and security requirements are embedded into product design from the beginning.
  • Partner with implementation and engineering teams to resolve complex technical scoping questions and reduce downstream ambiguity.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior product managers, supporting their development and strengthening team execution.
  • Serve as a primary product point of contact for clients during product discussions and implementation planning.
  • Join client calls, lead product conversations, and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders at financial institutions.
  • Proactively engage clients to gather feedback and validate product direction.
