The Product Manager is responsible for sourcing and negotiating commodity materials for lowest acquisition cost to produce maximum profitability as a result. Comparing costs, negotiating purchase agreements, and developing inventory controls to identify demand for new materials. Works closely with sales leaders on large projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, supply chain management, engineering or closely related field is required.
  • MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of industry-related experience, including at least three years of upper-level management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain an assigned inventory investment to within desired goals for service levels, and gross margin return on investment.
  • Identifies, proposes, and implements new Commodity strategies.
  • Purchase and negotiate materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.
  • Collaborates with executive leaders and other departments to carry out the goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Negotiates over 100M in spend.
  • Works with Sales on new products, dead stock and defective material.
  • Driven to reduce COGS in all opportunities.
  • Cost savings and year end rebate KPI driven.
  • Provide periodic performance reviews to other leadership.
  • Stay up to date on new trends and technologies in the field.
  • Establish and maintain vendor files with specific details.
  • Participate in various marketing-related functions that support Sales.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with assigned vendors and utilize those relationships to benefit Purchasing and Sales personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested by Manager.
