Under the general supervision of the category lead, this position manages the development, execution, and maintenance of all activities within the assigned product category. The position will require insight, data and market driven analysis to develop products, strategies, tactics and initiatives to strategically grow the category. This role serves as a key interface with major functional areas, including R&D, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Manufacturing. The individual in this role will constantly seek knowledge about retail, consumers, competitors, and products, and will liaise with the Analytics team to understand and communicate market dynamics and recommendations. The essential functions and key responsibilities include managing the development, planning, execution, and tracking of product creation activities for the category. The position requires collaboration with internal teams on product design, development, and creation. The individual will serve as a market/segment expert, understanding the market dynamics for the segment, including retail, consumer, competitor, and product innovation to make informed recommendations. Participation in cross-functional teams to determine pricing and positioning of products through the product lifecycle is crucial to maximize company financial targets and consumer appeal. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with the Analytics team to utilize expertise in market dynamics, pricing, retail timing, and consumer insights to create products that meet and exceed market demand. The individual will partner with Brand Marketing to bring product stories, insights, and concepts to life in consumer-facing communication, which includes naming and positioning of new products. The position also requires ensuring global alignment of the overall category strategy, product positioning, pricing, and messaging. The individual will collaborate with Global Business Strategy and Brand Marketing to create 3-Year strategic plans that address product strategy, launch timings, SKU management, pricing, etc., for club categories to meet both short- and long-term financial goals. The responsibilities extend to managing golf club Product Definition Documents (PDDs) within the Product Creation Function, owning product information including catalog and website specification sheets, and managing processes related to the product sample process from development through initial launch activities. The individual will translate technical product features and benefits into consumer-facing benefits, administer, track, and analyze sales, SKUs, and market data for stock and custom clubs, and generate content for training in support of product launch and sales activities. Other related duties and assignments may be required as necessary.
