About The Position

Qualcomm is looking for a Product Manager - for its Wireless Broadband and Connectivity Business Unit to help define and promote Qualcomm modem chipsets and platforms for Wireless Broadband, PC and MBB applications. Successful candidate will define product requirements, analyze business opportunities, perform gap analysis, drive execution, and help with go-to-market plans and global customer engagements. In addition, the candidate is expected to prioritize use cases, working closely with customers, partners, engineering, sales, and business development teams formulating and executing to product roadmaps. The responsibilities of this role include: Working independently with little supervision. Enabling various product attaches using Qualcomm chipsets. Experience in RF and baseband platform and software architecture as it relates to 2G/3G/4G/5G WAN, WLAN and Bluetooth wireless systems is a plus. Translating customer feedback and external environment into potential changes for the differentiated product roadmap Making decisions that are significant in impact; errors are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results; errors typically result in significant expenditure of time, resources, and funds to correct. Using verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. May require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents. Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions). Completing tasks that require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; tasks require simultaneously executing multiple cognitive abilities and maintaining information in short- or long-term memory. Exercising exceptional creativity to innovate new ideas and develop innovative products/processes without established objectives or known parameters. Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or conflicting; advanced data analysis and interpretation skills are required. Occasionally participates in strategic planning within own area affecting immediate operations. This is an office based position located in San Diego, CA and is expected to comply with the company's onsite work policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.
  • 2+ years of Product Management or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of Product Management or related work experience.
  • 1+ year of working in a large matrixed organization.
  • 1+ year of working with operating budgets and/or project financials.
  • 1+ year of negotiating 3rd party business agreements.
  • Experience in RF and baseband platform and software architecture as it relates to 2G/3G/4G/5G WAN, WLAN and Bluetooth wireless systems is a plus.
