About The Position

Cisco is building AI Canvas, an AI-native collaborative workspace that transforms how network and IT professionals troubleshoot, analyze, and manage complex infrastructure problems. You will join the Canvas platform team, working cross-functionally to deliver a powerful, scalable, and intuitive product experience. We ship iteratively, measure user engagement and outcomes, and obsess over reducing time-to-insight for practitioners. You will work closely with Engineering, Design, AI/ML, Customer Experience, Data Science, and Product Management teams across Networking, Security, and Observability portfolios. You will own key aspects of the Canvas product strategy and execution, ensuring that our AI-native workspace delivers powerful capabilities that scale for enterprise customers while maintaining exceptional user experiences. You will balance innovation with performance, reliability, and usability, working across multiple product areas from platform fundamentals to customer-facing features.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in product management (or equivalent), with experience in technical products, SaaS platforms, or enterprise software.
  • Experience delivering complex products involving scalability, performance optimization, user experience, and/or technical architecture considerations.
  • 1+ years building or shipping AI-powered product experiences such as conversational interfaces, recommendation systems, intelligent automation, or agentic workflows.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, web application architecture (APIs, microservices, caching, databases), and performance engineering fundamentals.
  • Proven ability to partner with Engineering and Design to translate customer problems into scalable, performant, and intuitive product solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in networking, security, observability, or IT operations tools; familiarity with practitioner workflows for troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with performance engineering, scalability planning, or infrastructure optimization; understanding of latency, throughput, caching strategies, and database optimization.
  • Knowledge of data visualization, analytics platforms, and presenting complex technical information in accessible formats.
  • Understanding of multi-tenant architecture, data isolation, security compliance, and enterprise-scale system design.
  • Track record of defining and improving product metrics such as time-to-value, performance benchmarks (P95 latency, error rates), user satisfaction (NPS/CSAT), and feature adoption.
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C product design; ability to balance enterprise requirements with consumer-grade simplicity.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills; ability to communicate product vision and technical tradeoffs to executive and technical audiences through data, wireframes, and customer narratives.

Responsibilities

  • Define Canvas product vision and roadmap across user experience, performance, scale, and platform capabilities, ensuring Canvas delivers powerful AI-assisted workflows that work reliably at enterprise scale.
  • Own core product areas which may include: board and widget experiences, AI reasoning and automation, collaboration features, performance optimization, scalability architecture, data management, or third-party integrations based on team priorities.
  • Drive technical excellence by working with Engineering to define performance benchmarks, scalability targets, reliability SLAs, and quality standards; ensure Canvas performs well under enterprise load with thousands of concurrent users and large data volumes.
  • Build AI-native product experiences such as natural language interactions, dynamic reasoning traces, contextual recommendations, autonomous workflows, and intelligent automation that learn from practitioner behavior and provide proactive insights.
  • Enable enterprise scale by defining requirements for multi-tenancy, data isolation, caching strategies, query optimization, horizontal scaling, and infrastructure efficiency; balance feature richness with system performance.
  • Collaborate across product portfolio to ensure consistent experiences across Meraki, ThousandEyes, and third-party integrations; define interaction patterns for multi-product data visualization, cross-domain insights, and unified authentication flows.
  • Partner with Design and Engineering to deliver features that balance power-user capabilities with ease of use; ensure Canvas works seamlessly across desktop and mobile, meets accessibility standards, and handles edge cases gracefully.
  • Validate with customers through continuous user research, alpha/beta programs, and performance testing; define success metrics for adoption, engagement, performance (latency, throughput), reliability (uptime, error rates), and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead collaboration and sharing capabilities including board permissions (RBAC), hierarchical access controls, real-time co-editing, and URL-based sharing that enable teams to work together on complex problems at scale.
  • Support business outcomes by defining product capabilities that align with Free, Professional, and Enterprise monetization strategies; work with GTM, Sales, and CX teams to enable field readiness and customer success.
