About The Position

In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. As a Product Manager at Lam, you play a crucial role in defining the strategy, roadmap, and features of the product. Your role with be both strategic and tactical. It will span the entire product life cycle, from definition and planning to production release, upgrades, and end-of-life. Your leadership skills will be vital in ensuring cross-functional collaboration across different departments to drive the success of the portfolio of products. With your expertise in both business and technical domains, you’ll bring the product vision to life for Lam and our customers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous semiconductor equipment industry, and supervisory/ management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect & understand customer needs and Lam business objectives to align product developmentstrategy and program roadmap.
  • Facilitate roundtable reviews of market roadmap and technology development resulting inrevisions of product strategy, program roadmap, and organizational priorities.
  • Align and author the program Vision, setting cost objectives and program deliverables alignedwith marketing requirements and product strategy. Holds team members accountable to thealigned vision deliverables throughout the Product Development & Release process.
  • Define and manage implementation strategy for product enhancements, new options, and fixes.
  • Communicate via Plan of Record (POR) to the development team, operations, and customeraccounts to align implementation of product changes.
  • Accountable for release of a Whole Product that meets performance targets, is available inmanufacturing with predictable lead time and cost, is supportable in the field with properdocumentation and training, with an aligned roadmap.
  • Prioritize programs to allocate resources aligned with overall organizational objectives.
  • Define and communicate the product offered for sale through the Product Option Architecture(POA) system and approve product changes.
  • Manage unreleased product proliferation: capture and communicate early forecasts and shipmentplans in the Unreleased Build Plan Process (URBP); submit DMRF’s to drive unreleased material;and approve Critical Design Reviews; align and approve new part spares inventory.
  • Define & manage ECOGS to support implementation of issue resolution in the field. Coordinateand monitor CSBG execution of mandatory retrofit and supplier quality excursion recoveryprograms.
  • Review and disposition PR’s in iPLM, BOM change orders, and NSR’s; provide supportingrationale and alternatives to justify decisions and determine pricing.
  • Communicate across Lam and with customer known product issues, the impact to ongoingoperations/production and POR. Lead CFTs as necessary, coordinating operations anddevelopment groups, to mitigate the customer production impacts when scarce resources areavailable.
  • Lead Safety issue CFTs to drive Safety Alert and implementation plans.
  • Analyze and make recommendation of financial reserves and disposition of unreleased materialinventory in engineering, operations and spares locations.
