About The Position

The Product Line Manager reports to Product Director and is part of the Product Line Management team. The successful candidate will be innovative and have demonstrable experience in thinking creatively to support the division to achieve growth in the existing product portfolio & expand the product offering. They will be responsible for managing the product line strategy for specific product lines to drive growth & profitability, alongside working with Sales, Marketing and Application Engineering to establish cost positioning, pricing strategies, competitive analysis and product lifecycle management. They will have experience working in a matrix organization and possess strong leadership qualities. They must be able to work independently, but also be a good team player / builder.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing a product portfolio in either passive components or Optoelectronics.
  • Demonstratable experience of bringing complex products to market.
  • Deep knowledge of technology drivers and market trends within your market expertise.
  • Experience of building comprehensive business cases for NPD programmes.
  • Experience of working in a global organisation, managing programmes across diverse teams.
  • Experience of working with customers to develop custom products and solutions.
  • Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Materials, Physics or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the strategic direction and lifecycle management of your product line, to include concept, go-to-market strategy through to end-of-life.
  • Develop and maintain a competitive, market and customer driven roadmap in collaboration with marketing, business development and engineering teams.
  • Define and communicate product positioning, value propositions, and competitive differentiation.
  • Engage with customers under the direction of Business Development and in close collaboration with Field Application Engineering to communicate the product strategy and roadmap, and to capture valuable customer insights and validate product requirements.
  • Identify and develop strategic partnerships to incorporate and capitalise on complementary IP to enhance the overall TT Electronics value proposition.
  • Own the product definition and planning process, supported by clear business cases and strategic alignment to company goals.
  • Champion the voice of the customer, ensuring it drives feature prioritisation and informs performance requirements.
  • Track and analyse market and competitor landscape to ensure the business unit stays ahead with leading product strategies.
  • Maintain a forward-looking view of applications, emerging technology and trends across several key markets including Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare and Electrification & Automation.
  • Working with Marketing to support the creation of high-quality product collateral, training materials, and product launch plans that clearly articulate product value internally and externally.
  • Promote a culture of innovation both within and across product development teams, encouraging creative solutions and continuous improvement to products and processes.
