About The Position

The Product Engineering Manager leads technical teams, overseeing project lifecycles (planning, design, execution, delivery), developing staff, and ensuring strategic alignment with company goals, requiring strong leadership, technical expertise, problem-solving, and communication skills to bridge technical details with business objectives. Key duties include technical mentorship, resource allocation, risk assessment, hiring, and fostering a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Successfully passes all applicable general pre-employment testing including but not limited to: background check, pre-employment drug screening, pre-employment fit tests, pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s).
  • Proficiency in spoken English language.
  • Daily in-person, predictable attendance.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License required. Employment is contingent upon meeting company driving standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) in accordance with Company policy.
  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
  • 10-20 years of gas turbine or power generation equipment experience required.
  • Specific knowledge of GE/Siemens/Solar gas turbines and Caterpillar/MTU reciprocating engines and related auxiliary systems required.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, manufacturing processes, and product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Efficient at Microsoft office (word, excel, PowerPoint, outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GE/Siemens/Solar gas turbines and Caterpillar/MTU reciprocating engines strongly preferred.
  • Experience with FEA, CFD, or other simulation tools is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry standards (e.g., ASME, ISO) and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a key stakeholder in the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems for power generation packages (i.e., gas turbine, reciprocating, etc.) and auxiliary/subsystems. Including but not limited to lubrication, hydraulic, starting, fuel, air intake/exhaust, structural, and acoustic enclosure.
  • Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering Team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and execute mechanical design strategies that align with company goals and project requirements.
  • Oversee the creation and review of detailed mechanical designs, drawings, and specifications.
  • Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
  • Support project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of design projects.
  • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives within the design process.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders and present technical information clearly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
