We are seeking a Product Engineer III for Wesanco-ZSI our Support Systems Division. Role is Remote Based with a preference to be in the Greater St. Louis, MO area. Overview: Will play a key role in the development, maintenance, and support of Wesanco-ZSI’s product portfolio. This role is highly cross-functional, requiring collaboration with engineering, product management, operations, quality, and customer-facing teams. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical expertise in design, analysis, and manufacturing support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical discipline strongly preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred); understanding of Building Information Modeling (BIM) a plus.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, data analytics tools, and project management software.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
  • Excellent communication skills to work directly with customers to understand questions and effectively communicate solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of production processes, materials, and quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain the product drawing and 3D model library.
  • Support made-to-order (MTO) and custom product requests, providing timely and accurate solutions.
  • Address and resolve technical inquiries from both internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Assist with third-party product qualifications and industry standards compliance (MSS, MFMA, UL, etc.).
  • Create / maintain product test procedures.  Perform tests on products and analyze test results.
  • Maintain and update Bills of Material (BOM) and product routings to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Contribute to product improvement initiatives by leveraging engineering analysis and customer feedback.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams to optimize product design for cost, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Travel to manufacturing locations working with operations teams to support new product & MTO custom product launches.
  • Travel to key customers to understand issues, solve problems and understand opportunities for new products.
