About The Position

Plans, directs, and implements fabrication product design and quality program for EJ Fabrication operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology) or a combination of an associate’s degree with relevant drafting and fabrication experience.
  • 1–2 years of related experience required; 5+ years in a fabrication environment preferred.
  • Ability to conceptualize verbal project directives and translate them into technical designs.
  • Skilled in drafting design and shop drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in spreadsheet creation and data analysis.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and manufacturing processes

Nice To Haves

  • Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python, VBA) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes the culture, the mission and vision, and the core values of the company. This includes adherence to and promotion of the company safety beliefs, employee engagement, competencies, code of conduct, and other policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate customer requests for new custom products; prepare standards, drawings (SolidWorks), and job quotes.
  • Reports directly to the Engineering Manager for direction and guidance.
  • Collaborate with sales and customers to provide engineering consultation and support on our various products.
  • Design and implement new products; create BOMs, implement standards, support the design of tooling and fixturing for manufacturing.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost/profitability evaluations for new products.
  • Establish and manage product quality inspection, audit, and review processes from quote to production.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and support customer complaint investigations.
  • Train and coach employees on continuous improvement and quality systems tools.
  • Promote safety awareness and ensure compliance with organizational safety expectations.
