Duties & Responsibilities: Product Engineer I is an entry-level engineering role responsible for supporting the development, testing, introduction, and lifecycle support of hardware and software products. This position works cross-functionally with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Quality, and Sales to ensure products are robust, manufacturable, and successfully deployed in customer applications. The role is hands-on and field-oriented, combining product testing, troubleshooting, technical documentation, light software development, and automation, with opportunities to participate in new product introduction (NPI), design reviews, and field trials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Computer, or related field)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on mindset with interest in testing, troubleshooting, and automation
  • Ability to write basic scripts or simple programs (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar)
  • Ability to clearly document technical findings and communicate across teams
  • Willingness to support field activities and occasional travel

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or academic project experience involving hardware systems, testing, automation, or manufacturing
  • Familiarity with electronics, embedded systems, sensors, or complex electromechanical products
  • Experience with test equipment, data acquisition, or scripting for test automation
  • Exposure to customer-facing or application-oriented engineering work

Responsibilities

  • Perform functional, environmental, and system-level testing of new and existing products
  • Develop and maintain test setups, tools, and basic automation scripts to improve test coverage, repeatability, and efficiency
  • Assist with automation of test procedures, data collection, and analysis
  • Participate in field testing and customer trials, including on-site support when required
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings in formal technical reports
  • Support the transition of products from design to manufacturing
  • Assist with design reviews with a focus on manufacturability, testability, reliability, and automation opportunities
  • Work with Manufacturing, Test, and Quality teams to resolve production issues
  • Help develop and improve manufacturing and test processes, including semi-automated workflows, to increase yield and reduce cost
  • Investigate and resolve product issues identified during testing, production, or in the field
  • Develop small scripts, utilities, or tools to support troubleshooting, diagnostics, and log analysis
  • Provide technical support to Sales, Applications, and Customer Support teams
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Support customer system integrations and product deployments
  • Interface with Design Engineering on product improvements, reliability considerations, and testability
  • Work with Product Management and Marketing to provide technical feedback from testing, automation, and field experience
  • Contribute technical input to product documentation, specifications, and release readiness
