Our Medtronic Surgical team is working to bring the benefits of minimally invasive surgery (MIS) to more people and places through a portfolio of robotic & digital solutions. Together, we are working to broaden options and expand access globally for hospitals, surgeons, & patients We are seeking a Product Engineer I to join our team supporting ongoing R&D and product development initiatives. This entry-level engineering role is ideal for candidates early in their career who are eager to contribute to design, development, testing, and continuous improvement activities within a collaborative engineering environment. As a Product Engineer I, you will partner with cross-functional teams, including R&D Engineers and senior technical staff, to support product performance, reliability, and quality throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, or related discipline)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Medtronic experience in the Surgical OU.
  • Familiarity with R&D or product development in a regulated industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production and product support engineering, including testing methods, data collection, troubleshooting, device specifications, and resolving yield or performance issues.
  • Support product development and high‑volume manufacturing by maintaining components and devices after transfer, collaborating with R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to drive improvements.
  • Update and maintain product documentation, test methods, engineering reports, and support supplier‑related changes or minor design updates.
  • Participate in root‑cause investigations, continuous improvement activities, and analysis of customer returns or device usage issues.
  • Assist customers with technical questions or testing challenges on complex devices as needed.
