About The Position

Role Summary: Serve as the enterprise authority on the Product data domain, guiding strategy, standards, governance, and adoption. Ensure high-quality, scalable, and compliant product data across all business units and platforms; lead the Product Domain Council, partner with delivery teams, and enforce Product Master as the source of truth. Key Responsibilities: Enterprise Product Domain Expertise Act as the primary subject matter expert for the Product domain, advising business and technology teams on best practices, standards, and data usage. Translate business needs into product data requirements; advocate for product-centric capabilities and processes across the enterprise. Lead the Product Domain Council Establish, chair, and manage the Product Domain Council to drive alignment on policies, standards, prioritization, and roadmap decisions. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, issue resolution, and decision-making with representation from business, data, architecture, security, and delivery teams. Maintain transparent governance artifacts (charters, decision logs, standards) and communicate outcomes to stakeholders. Data Product Strategy and Scalability Define and oversee the roadmap for Product data products (e.g., Product Master, attributes catalog, variants/configurations, classifications), ensuring scalability, resilience, and fitness for purpose. Set non-functional requirements (performance, availability, security, compliance, observability) to support growth in data volume and user demand. Guide architecture patterns (APIs, streaming, batch, event-driven) and reference implementations that enable reuse and consistent adoption. Implementation Partnership and Delivery Enablement Partner with delivery teams to ensure Product data assets and products are implemented according to domain standards, architecture principles, and governance controls. Provide design reviews, solution approvals, and readiness checks; remove delivery roadblocks and align dependencies across upstream/downstream systems. Define and measure success criteria (SLAs, SLOs, data quality KPIs) for launches and iterations. Access Policies, Controls, and Approvals Define role-based access policies, data usage guidelines, and data sharing agreements for Product domain assets. Approve access requests and entitlements, ensuring compliance with regulatory and security requirements. Partner with Security, Legal, and Privacy teams to operationalize retention, classification, and data minimization practices. Data Quality, Integrity, and Lifecycle Management Be accountable for the quality and integrity of Product domain data, including stewardship, issue management, and remediation plans. Establish and enforce lifecycle management for product records, including creation, updates, versioning, variants, discontinuation, and archival. Govern associated reference data, metadata, taxonomies, and hierarchies; maintain authoritative definitions, lineage, and catalogs. Product Master Adoption and Source-of-Truth Enforcement Ensure internal systems and solutions consistently use Product Master as the authoritative source for product identity and core attributes. Define integration standards (APIs, event contracts, matching/versioning rules) and certify consuming applications for compliance. Monitor adherence and address deviations through remediation plans and governance escalation. Standards, Policies, and Compliance Implement and maintain domain standards, data models, naming conventions, and semantic definitions; align with enterprise architecture and data governance frameworks. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies relevant to product data (e.g., safety/regulatory labeling, regional attributes). Measurement, Monitoring, and Continuous Improvement Define domain-level metrics and dashboards (data quality scores, coverage, timeliness, adoption, SLA compliance). Conduct regular reviews and retrospectives to identify improvement opportunities; drive enhancements to data products, processes, and controls. Benchmark against industry practices and introduce innovations that improve product data capabilities and business value. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication Build strong relationships with product management across the enterprise including supply chain, manufacturing, sales, marketing, e-commerce, and analytics teams. Provide clear communication on roadmap, standards, changes, risks, and outcomes; deliver training and enablement materials to drive adoption and literacy.

Requirements

  • Hands on experience in product data management, MDM, and data governance.
  • Proven leadership of cross-functional councils or domain governance bodies.
  • Familiarity with modern data platforms, APIs, event-driven architectures, and observability.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders
  • Knowledge of regulatory and regional requirements impacting product data (e.g., packaging, labeling, compliance attributes).
  • Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, IT, MBA, or an equivalent scientific/commercial discipline within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Data enablement and or strategy.
  • Strong business acumen with a keen ability to understand how data can be leveraged to inform critical enterprise decisions and actions.
  • Proven ability to analyse and assess the value of data assets.
  • Proven potential to effectively collaborate with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to identify innovative approaches to addressing data needs.
  • Excellent presentation, analytics, and communication skills, both written and oral, are required to synthesize key issues and communicate/persuade constituencies towards specific actions and initiatives.
  • Ability to attain “trusted advisor” status with key stakeholders and business clients.
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, transforming environment.
  • Strong experience in data management (Data analysis, Data architecture, Data Modelling)
  • Strong experience of SQL, AWS cloud services (S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift), Oracle RDBMS, JIRA, Git
  • Strong experience with enterprise software delivery processes
  • Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Self-motivated, proactive, with ability to work independently with minimum direction.
