About The Position

Own the product strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management for swimming pool finishes (e.g., plaster, quartz, pebble, polished finishes, and related systems). This role leads cross-functional efforts spanning supply chain, marketing, and sales to deliver differentiated finishes that meet performance, aesthetics, and installation requirements while achieving growth and margin targets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, or technical/commercial leadership for building materials, coatings, cementitious products, or adjacent construction products.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional new product development and commercialization (stage-gate or similar).
  • Strong understanding of product performance metrics, quality systems, and field issue resolution.
  • Experience building business cases, managing a product P&L or margin targets, and setting pricing/positioning.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence without authority.
  • Ability to travel (jobsite visits, customer meetings, trade events).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience specifically with swimming pool finishes (plaster/quartz/pebble), cementitious coatings, pigments/color systems, sealers, or polishing processes.
  • Familiarity with contractor/applicator-led installation environments and training programs that reduce workmanship variability.
  • Experience in multi-channel distribution (builder, distribution, retail) and field sales enablement.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product vision, multi-year roadmap, and portfolio strategy for swimming pool finishes across residential and commercial segments.
  • Translate market, customer, and applicator insights into clear product requirements (performance, color/finish aesthetics, workability, curing, durability, stain resistance, and compatibility with substrates and water chemistries).
  • Lead new product development from concept through launch: business case, VOC/safety considerations, formulation targets, validation plans, stage-gate milestones, and commercialization readiness.
  • Partner with manufacturers or material suppliers to establish product specifications, test methods, acceptance criteria, and continuous improvement plans; ensure robust root-cause analysis for field issues.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers or material suppliers and Supply Chain to deliver scalable, cost-effective formulations and packaging; drive cost-down and value engineering without sacrificing performance.
  • Own pricing and positioning strategy; build margin models and recommend actions based on raw material volatility, competitive moves, and channel dynamics.
  • Develop go-to-market plans with Marketing and Sales: segmentation, value proposition, messaging, training, samples, and launch enablement for distributors/builders/applicators.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and emerging technologies (additives, pigments, binders, curing accelerators, polishing systems) and recommend portfolio actions.
  • Manage product lifecycle: SKU rationalization, substitutions, end-of-life plans, and documentation updates.
  • Support technical training and key customer engagements (jobsite visits, applicator councils, distributor meetings) to strengthen adoption and reduce installation variability.
  • Track performance via KPIs; report progress, risks, and investment needs to leadership and recommend corrective actions.
