The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Product Development Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by: Assuming technical leadership on NPI (New Product Introduction) and NTI (New Technology Introduction) initiatives Formulating, processing and characterizing materials for 3M Nextel Ceramic Fiber development Interfacing with cross-functional team members (marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, technical service, quality, regulatory, etc) to ensure successful program delivery. Generating intellectual property positions, including invention submissions, patents and 3M trade secrets. Leading technical interactions with corporate labs to identify new technologies, processes and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or science (such as Ceramics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering) completed and verified prior to start from an accredited institution.
  • 6 year(s) of product development experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's or PhD degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Three years of product development experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Skills include experience with Ceramic processing and analytical techniques such as sol gel processing, fiber forming techniques, high temperature processing and chemical/ mechanical properties testing

Responsibilities

  • Assuming technical leadership on NPI (New Product Introduction) and NTI (New Technology Introduction) initiatives
