This position will be part of the CONNECTED LIVING SOLUTIONS--focuses on delivering advanced connectivity and sensor technologies that power the modern smart home---including kitchen appliances, HVAC systems, lighting, security, and energy management. At TE Connectivity, you'll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as an Intern in the Industrial Business Unit, will help us make the connections that move the world forward by: Interns will be responsible for supporting the Product Engineering team with their day-to-day activities, learning the engineering process, and develop design skills. In addition to the activities just listed, interns will also have the responsibility to manage and drive their own engineering project.  This project will require the use of skills learned throughout the summer and provide meaningful benefit to the project sponsors.  Interns will also be expected to document their results and provide a summary presentation to the engineering team at the end of the internship.

Requirements

  • Have earned a high school diploma or GED
  • Are currently enrolled in, or pursuing, a BA/BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university-or have equivalent work experience (gap year students may also be considered).
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have prior internship experience or have completed a major project

Responsibilities

  • Manage and drive an engineering project which will require the use of skills learned throughout the summer.
  • Provide updates on project status.
  • Document results and provide a summary presentation to the engineering team at the end of the internship.
  • Support product engineers when needed in day-to-day tasks.
  • Network throughout the engineering team.
  • Further expand your knowledge of engineering tools related to design and analysis.
