About The Position

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, KLA helps chipmakers worldwide ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Our ECI Technology division leads the way in chemical process control, delivering precision analysis for consistent wafer quality and enabling advanced chip design. We design analytical equipment that meets the rigorous demands of chemical processes for damascene, wafer-level packaging, clean, and wet etch processes. As a Product Development Engineering Intern , you’ll join our System Engineering group and work alongside experienced engineers to support the development and testing of next-generation chemical analysis devices. This internship offers hands-on experience in areas such as microfluidic dispensing, spectrophotometric measurements, and system integration. You’ll gain exposure to: Requirements analysis and conceptual design. Testing and validation of device performance. Collaboration with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams. Real-world problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using AI agents
  • Familiarity with scientific tools such as Matlab, Python, or LabView (coursework or projects count).
  • Exposure to microfluidics, spectrophotometry, fiber-optics, or electromechanical systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining requirements and developing specifications for chemical analysis processes.
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans for new designs and improvements.
  • Help evaluate materials and components for compatibility with chemical processes.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and performance analysis of devices and subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review designs and test results.
  • Document findings and contribute to reports that support engineering decisions.
