DESCRIPTION: Join our collaborative R&D team, where you'll contribute to innovation in scientific instrumentation and technologies. As a Staff Scientist, you'll guide research initiatives, develop solutions, and work with cross-functional teams to advance our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. You'll design and optimize new technologies, conduct experimental validation, analyze complex data, and provide technical direction across multiple projects. This role offers the opportunity to make significant contributions to innovative developments while working with state-of-the-art equipment and skilled colleagues in a supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in hands-on R&D experience in analytical instrumentation development
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics
  • Proven expertise in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific method development
  • Strong programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB or similar languages
  • Experience with ion optics, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry or related technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to guide complex technical projects and mentor team members
  • Track record of innovation through patents, publications, and successful product launches
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with statistical analysis and experimental design methodologies
  • Proficiency with scientific instrumentation and laboratory techniques
  • Strong documentation skills following GMP/GLP guidelines
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally
  • Strong project management abilities
  • Knowledge of FDA/regulatory requirements and quality systems
