About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary, and hands-on leader to drive Product Development, Quality Assurance, and Innovation Strategy across two prestige skincare brands, one a pioneer in biotech skincare, the other a leader in clinical skincare. This role sits at the intersection of science, strategy, and creativity, responsible for shaping breakthrough innovation pipelines, ensuring product excellence from concept through commercialization, and maintaining the uncompromising standards that define our brands. The ideal candidate thrives in both the creative ideation and scientific rigor required to deliver differentiated skincare products. You will lead end-to-end development from concept creation to market launch, manage cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Regulatory, Operations, and Supply Chain, and ensure a seamless partnership with our NJ-based manufacturing partner.

Requirements

  • A strategic thinker with a deep understanding of how science and storytelling create brand magic.
  • Hands-on and detail-oriented approach, able to manage complex projects while thinking several launches ahead.
  • Energized by collaboration and unafraid to challenge the status quo in the pursuit of better skincare.
  • 10–15+ years of progressive experience in Product Development, Formulation Innovation, or R&D within prestige or derm/clinical skincare.
  • Deep understanding of ingredient chemistry, skin biology, formulation science, and claims substantiation.
  • Strong experience managing external labs, contract manufacturers, and QA processes.
  • Proven success building innovative pipelines aligned to brand positioning and market opportunity.
  • Exceptional project management and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of formulation development from early concepting and prototyping to scale-up and production.
  • Manage timelines, budgets, and critical path deliverables to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Creative, Operations, Finance, Regulatory) to translate brand strategy into commercially viable products.
  • Lead multi-year innovation pipeline planning across both brands, ensuring strategic differentiation within their respective skincare spaces (biotech and clinical).
  • Scout emerging trends, ingredients, technologies, and textures across skincare, biotech, and wellness.
  • Drive consumer-centric innovation, integrating data, insights, and scientific advancements into compelling product stories.
  • Oversee the QA function to ensure all products meet brand, regulatory, and safety standards.
  • Implement robust testing, stability, and validation processes in collaboration with internal QA teams and external labs.
  • Maintain up-to-date awareness of FDA, EU, and global compliance regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the shared NJ-based Contract Manufacturer, managing development timelines, formula integrity, costings, and quality control.
  • Negotiate key supplier and lab partnerships to secure best-in-class innovation and manufacturing excellence.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and ensure continuous improvement in formula performance and process efficiency.
  • Build, coach, and lead a small but high-performing team across PD, QA, and Innovation.
  • Foster collaboration between brand teams and central functions within the organization.
  • Promote a culture of curiosity, excellence, and accountability.
