Fullerton Ave., Chicago, IL 60614 Job Type: Full-time Pay Rate: $28.50 - $38.50 Hourly The New Product Development Buyer alongside the Supply Chain Manager and the Product Development Manager/CEO is a key member of the team who manages every step of the product lifecycle from concept to production.

Requirements

  • Must speak and write English proficiently.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field.
  • Min 2 years of Purchasing or Supply Chain-related experience.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and change management.
  • Ability to work with a cross-functional team without formal authority.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing organizations which produce or assemble products.
  • Familiarity with product specifications and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings.
  • Effective communication to act as a bridge between internal teams and external vendors.
  • Prior experience with Epicor 9.0 or above, Oracle or other MRP systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to communicate in Mandarin, Cantonese or Taiwanese is a plus but not required.
  • Lighting manufacturing experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate procurement and assembly of product samples for various purposes including testing, photography, and trade shows by working directly with vendors.
  • Placing orders for tooling and pilot materials, and ensuring that development timelines are met.
  • Assist with cost analysis with Product Development Sourcing Manager.
  • Works with Marketing, Technical, and Engineering teams to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Work with Product Development Sourcing Manager to provide estimated launch dates for product families' spec sheets.
  • Providing all necessary information for decision making as it related to products.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining task and product milestones during the development stage.
  • Monitor all phases of new product development and help to resolve roadblocks.
  • Serve as a company-wide resource for product questions and information.
