About The Position

As the Nonprofit Marketing Platform trusted by over 1,300 nonprofits, Feathr is purpose-built to help our customers unlock more results, time, and confidence. Feathr's software marketing platform equips nonprofits with the tools they need to build purposeful connections with their community and grow impact with confidence. We're working on building an amazing culture at Feathr, where amazing people (like you) can do their best work. If you're ready to grow and "help the helpers" you've come to the right place. But hey, don't take our word for it. Hear what current and former Flockers have to say about their experience. You'll be embedded in 1-2 product pods (Ads, Fundraising, Email, Integrations, or Usability), working closely with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to design experiences that serve nonprofit professionals navigating complex marketing and fundraising workflows. This role offers significant autonomy and growth potential. You'll own end-to-end design for your pod's initiatives, from early discovery through implementation, while collaborating with our Senior Product Designer on design system evolution and strategic projects.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS, B2B, or workflow-heavy products
  • Strong end-to-end design skills including user research, interaction design, visual design, and usability testing
  • Proficiency in Figma for design, prototyping, and design system work
  • Cross-functional collaboration ability with demonstrated experience working closely with engineers and product managers
  • Technical fluency: Understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, component architecture) sufficient to communicate effectively with engineering teams—you don't need to code, but you should understand how designs translate to implementation
  • Systems thinking: Ability to work within and evolve design systems while maintaining consistency
  • Portfolio demonstrating problem-solving process, design decisions, and impact of your work
  • Self-starter with strong ownership: You take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward without constant direction
  • Flexible yet opinionated: You adapt to changing priorities while having the conviction to advocate for users and design quality
  • Excellent communicator: You articulate design rationale clearly and know when to collaborate vs. when to make decisions autonomously
  • Empathetic collaborator: You build trust through kind, thoughtful interactions and constructive feedback
  • Eager to learn and grow: You actively seek feedback, embrace new tools and approaches, and continuously develop your craft
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Ability to navigate evolving priorities and make progress despite incomplete information

Nice To Haves

  • Curiosity about AI and emerging tools: Interest in exploring AI-assisted design workflows, code generation, and design-to-dev automation
  • Design systems passion: Experience contributing to or maintaining component libraries

Responsibilities

  • Own design for 1-2 product pods, delivering end-to-end solutions from research and ideation through final implementation
  • Design new features and improvements for campaign management, fundraising tools, email marketing, integrations, or usability initiatives
  • Collaborate on design system development, helping evolve and maintain our component libraries and design standards
  • Partner closely with engineers (especially your pod's Principal Front-End Engineer) to ensure high-quality implementation and smooth handoffs
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers and key stakeholders to define problems, explore solutions, and align on priorities
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to validate design decisions and understand nonprofit user needs
  • Create design specifications and documentation that bridge design intent with technical implementation
  • Explore AI-assisted design workflows using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Figma MCP integrations
  • Experiment with design-to-code tooling and prototyping approaches that improve design-dev collaboration
  • Shape design processes and standards as we scale our design practice
  • Contribute to design thinking around emerging technologies and their application to nonprofit challenges
