About The Position

Dusty Robotics is an autonomous robotics company that’s transforming the construction industry with its flagship product, the FieldPrinter™ — a groundbreaking solution that automates layout on construction sites. Our robots bring digital precision to physical spaces, printing CAD designs directly onto jobsite floors with 1/16” accuracy. With a fleet deployed across North America, our technology is reshaping how buildings are constructed by enhancing speed, accuracy, and coordination. Dusty has raised over $69M from leading venture firms including Scale Venture Partners, Baseline Ventures, Canaan, NextGen Venture Partners, and Root Ventures. Our customers include some of the biggest names in construction, such as DPR, JE Dunn, and Skanska. We’re looking for an in-office Product Designer to work with our world-class engineering team. You’ll work at the intersection of robotics and real-world construction, advancing the state of the art in robotic layout printing. You will contribute to or own designs for our iPad app robot controller, our customer facing web portal, and possibly AutoCAD/Revit plugins. You will work with a variety of teams to incorporate user feedback to deliver real value to our customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Entry-level to 3 years of product design experience.
  • Demonstrate a range of design skills and experience leading the product design process from start to finish.
  • Experience conducting user research and utilizing user-centered design processes.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, collaborate with engineers to understand technical details, think about problems with trade-offs, and deliver simple and clear user experiences.
  • Excellent communicator - clearly shares designs and welcomes feedback.
  • Proficient in Figma.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver complete UX/UI designs for our core products, an iPad app and web portal, to ensure an intuitive experience with our robot.
  • Perform user research to identify problems, validate solutions, and inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and the customer success team to align design decisions with business goals and user needs.
  • Present designs to stakeholders, address questions, and iterate based on their feedback.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to review implemented features for design completeness.
  • Maintain and contribute to Dusty’s design system and component library.
