About The Position

Rock House Farm Designer Brands is a third-generation, family-owned company that has been setting the standard in finely crafted furniture since 1947. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Furniture Product Design Intern to support our product design and development team. You will gain hands-on experience in the full product development cycle—from concept to production—while working closely with designers, engineers, and manufacturers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Product Design, or a related field.
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, or SketchUp; Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Strong understanding of materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• A keen eye for detail and design aesthetics.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for furniture, design innovation, and sustainable practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of new furniture products.
• Support in creating and updating technical drawings, 3D models, and prototypes.
• Help gather and conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitive benchmarking.
• Prepare product specifications, material lists, and sample request forms.
• Communicate with suppliers and manufacturers for sampling and production updates.
• Support in product testing, quality checks, and documentation.
• Help maintain design libraries and organize materials/samples.
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
