About The Position

We are looking for a Product Design Engineer to join our Innovation team and support a wide range of projects to deliver impactful solutions for our customers. A primary focus of this position will be rapid prototyping to improve existing products, design new products and accessories, and test new concepts and ideas. This job is best suited to a self-starter who takes pride in their work and has a strong desire to continually take things to the next level by expanding their knowledge and growing their skill set to better understand current problems and future needs. Additionally, this team member will collaborate very closely with other team members and departments, so they will need to be a strong team player who is able to contribute to large and small projects and check their ego at the door.

Requirements

Strong skills and experience with product design, rendering, rapid prototyping tools and techniques, including 3D CAD design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.), and 3D printing
Has an understanding of commonly used manufacturing machinery and techniques
Complete adherence to all confidentiality agreements and utmost respect for Toddy’s intellectual property and trade secrets
Maintain a positive attitude, put people before problems, and value team victories over personal victories.
Able to understand and interpret part prints/drawings
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Strong computer skills - able to learn new software and technologies that enable effective project communication and efficient use of time (examples: Basecamp, Google Suite, Gantt charts, MS Excel, flowcharting tools)
Use the Internet to research challenging issues and find solutions
Follow project plans and meet deadlines
Learn quickly from failures and apply knowledge to future tasks and projects. Iterative design from concept to production
Able to multitask, focusing on multiple projects at once
Working knowledge of common material characteristics
Able to approach challenges from multiple viewpoints and think creatively to come up with innovative solutions
Able to balance a high sense of urgency with close attention to detail
Build effective relationships and collaborate with peers, managers, and co-workers across all departments
Openly communicates, provides timely feedback, and shares ideas

Understand the importance of following workplace safety and food safety protocols and best practices
3D CAD Design: 3+ years
Product Design/Development: 3+ years (Preferred)
Manufacturing: 2+ years (Preferred)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience in Material Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or similar.
