About The Position

We are looking for a Product Cycle Engineer (New Equipment Valve Engineer) to join our Summerville SC location. Your Responsibilities: Curtiss-Wright is looking for a Product Cycle Engineer to join our Steam & Air Solutions team. You will be directing or performing the design and development of valve products and components of existing and new designs within the guidelines for product design that will meet industry and contractual requirements at the most efficient cost. Your Challenge: Conduct studies and investigations to determine feasibility of designs associated with the application of steam valves Define product design requirements in accordance with contract requirements and industry standards, including computation of performance Analyze test results to evaluate and determine performance, design qualities, and operating deficiencies for the product Develop standard performance curves and calculation procedures to assist marketing in quoting products Coordinate with other areas of engineering to ensure contractual requirements are met. Conduct product improvement programs toward minimizing costs, improving performance and promoting standardization Investigate field problems and provide corrective action in terms of component redesign, revised operating procedures or maintenance practices Develop computer programs required to support and analyze design concepts with respect to performance and mechanical design. Investigate manufacturing deviations and provide corrective action. May supervise and direct subordinates, product design engineers and/or technicians in the design and modification of components for steam turbines Independently perform assignments that require thorough knowledge of thermodynamics, machine design, metallurgy, installation, operation and application of steam valves Travel (5 - 15% per year) to manufacturing suppliers to support, instruct, and manage the machining of critical components What you Bring: Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approvals BS in Mechanical Engineering, BS Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Aero Engineering discipline and 5-10 years of experience in the steam turbine, steam valves or related industry required Ability to create UG drawings, 3-D models Experience with Teamcenter and NX, Bills of Materials and Item creation and maintenance. Requirements

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
