About The Position

As a Product Compliance Engineer at United Alloy, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet all relevant industry and regulatory standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and manufacturing processes to meet the highest standards of product compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of engineering experience with 2-3 years of product compliance or regulatory experience.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Consistently completes assigned tasks on schedule. Requires minimal guidance and can work independently.
  • Seeks out product and continuous improvement opportunities. Takes on additional tasks or process improvements to fill potential voids in workload.
  • Highly knowledgeable of engineering principles and has experience in the industry within given functional area. Able to be a technical lead for a mid-high complexity project.
  • Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset. Identifies opportunities to improve product and processes.
  • Interacts directly with the customer. Collaborates with team members towards accomplishing the mission. May present project updates to the leadership team.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance Management: Manage all product compliance activities including UL, ULC, Transport Canada, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, etc.
  • Compliance Documentation: Maintain & create accurate compliance documentation, including testing reports, certificates, and technical files.
  • Product Testing and Evaluation: Coordinate product testing, evaluation, and validation processes to ensure that products conform to regulatory requirements. Complete test reports and document submittals.
  • Communication: Communicate directly with customers, suppliers and peers to gather relevant information to complete compliance requests.
  • Audits and Inspections: Coordinate and prepare for third-party audits and regulatory inspections, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on relevant industry regulations, standards, and guidelines to ensure products meet all necessary compliance requirements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with sales, estimating, design engineering, quality control, and purchasing teams to integrate compliance requirements into the product development process.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential compliance risks and propose solutions to mitigate these risks.
  • Continuous Improvement: Actively seeks out continuous improvement opportunities to enhance compliance processes, suggesting improvements and implementing best practices.
  • Business Growth: Research and document compliance requirements for new product categories.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
