About The Position

The Product Catalog Specialist is responsible for the accuracy, organization, and ongoing maintenance of the Mill Creek Carpet & Tile product catalog. This role serves as a critical support function to the Purchasing Team by assisting with stock ordering, vendor coordination, and inventory-related data management. The Product Catalog Specialist will also act as a backup to purchasing personnel as needed, ensuring continuity of operations and uninterrupted product availability. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and vendor partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in flooring, tile, construction materials, or building products.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software.
  • Prior experience supporting purchasing, inventory, or supply chain functions.
  • Understanding of product specifications, SKUs, and vendor catalogs.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the product catalog to ensure accuracy of SKUs, descriptions, pricing, specifications, availability, and vendor information.
  • Add new products and discontinue outdated or inactive items in coordination with Purchasing and Sales.
  • Ensure consistency of product data across internal systems, reports, and customer-facing materials.
  • Organize product categories to support showroom, sales, and operational needs.
  • Assist with stock ordering based on inventory levels, sales trends, and purchasing guidelines.
  • Coordinate with vendors to confirm product details, lead times, pricing updates, and availability.
  • Support purchase order preparation, tracking, and documentation as directed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify Purchasing of potential shortages, overages, or discrepancies.
  • Serve as a backup for purchasing team members during absences or peak workload periods.
  • Assist with order follow-ups, vendor communication, and issue resolution.
  • Help ensure timely and accurate procurement of flooring, tile, and related materials.
  • Work closely with Sales, Operations, Warehouse, and Showroom teams to support product accuracy and availability.
  • Provide product information and documentation to internal teams as requested.
  • Assist with audits, data clean-up projects, and process improvements related to product and inventory management.
