About The Position

Coordinate, complete and document project/change request requirements on time and within budget hours. Maintain policy forms, manuals and insurance departments filings. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Organize, attend and participate in all project/stakeholder meetings. Gather additional requirements/documentation, document and follow up on action items and decisions from meetings/emails/discussions. Provide regular updates to Product Manager and other stakeholders. Comply with all insurance, state and SOX requirements. Complete all project tasks and change requests by assigned deadlines. Ensure projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project. Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution. Consult with and provide problem solving assistance to team members on matters related to programs, projects and activities. Maintain current knowledge of insurance underwriting or claims workflow, procedures, and system changes. Organize meetings/communication to collaborate and ensure multi-departmental stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution. Prepare and maintain all agent manual rates and rules. Create new endorsement forms and policy language in collaboration with other departmental stakeholders. Maintain documentation of changes on insurance policy forms, rates and manuals. Utilize Mozart Form Composer to organize, update and track all documentation. Maintain and update the processing manuals with new information as testing is completed. Conduct new agent training on system related items. Create updated user manuals and visual training guides for Agents and Home Office staff to optimize utilization of the internal application/endorsement system. Document all pertinent procedural information on how to complete all job tasks in internal documentation library. Review requirements and design specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and function of the product. Provide consultation and assistance on project planning, development, and implementation techniques. Responsible for creating and submitting filings within each respective state’s timelines, monitoring the filings for any objections, and following up with states DOI in a timely manner. Proactively monitor the P&C market, legal and risk trends to maintain & improve our policy language and operating manuals, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable sin situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have knowledge of spreadsheet software and word processing software.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or minimum of 1-year experience in working in the insurance industry, preferably in the property and casualty insurance sector.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Underwriting or Claims processing experience is a plus.
