Product Agronomy Specialist III- Illinois YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The territory for this role is Effingham, Ilinois. The primary responsibilities of this role are to: APPLIED FIELD RESEARCH •Actively engage Product Teams for developing National Protocols; •Applies marketplace knowledge to lead Local Technical Team (LTT) in the development of Regional Protocols; •Applies recommendations from statistician on trial design to meet protocol objectives & align with field testing capabilities; •Uses internal and external networks to identify & secure testing sites that meet protocol criteria & influence farmer cooperators/customers; •Applies scientific skills to efficiently & accurately collect, analyze, summarize and interpret data, plus influence product positioning & stakeholder competence/confidence; •Works cooperatively & influences academics & other key influencers on seed, trait & systems field trials"; REGULATORY COMPLIANCE / STEWARDSHIP •Adheres to company Trait Stewardship requirements as necessary; •Facilitate Product Performance Inquiry Processes & assist when required (e.g. CRW - GTED / IRM); TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP •Actively consults germplasm FSR's and TA's with Tech Support for germplasm, trait and on-germplasm chemistry PPI's; •Actively engage on Product Team while consulting others & serving as regional marketplace representative; •Coordinates with internal field testing functions to test, deliver, position and support our product pipeline; •Identifies new Market Opportunities, and leads the development of trials and ultimately valued outcomes for our customers; •Partners with sales & agronomy to facilitate & deliver demonstrations, and dealer and customer training content". KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER •Facilitates & Presents Regional Research results to technical managers, agronomy and sales teams; •Facilitates regional marketplace positioning of new seed, traits, and on-seed crop protection products; •Facilitates discussions with sales, TPL's, agronomy & KT to create and deploy educational content on Bayer products & tailored solutions for customers; •Facilitates efforts to coordinate, calendarize and build content for internal training events designed to increase competence & confidence; •Interface & collaborate with external key influencers on BCS products, recommendations, and local needs. SAFETY & LOGISTICS •Learns, applies and complies with all safety standards and requirements & coaches others; •Coaches others & effectively forecasts / orders seed & crop protection products for successful execution of field research program; •Collaborate/coordinate with ARM in planting, spraying, maintaining, and harvesting field trials; •Initiates and manages the execution and maintenance of land & warehouse contracts & coaches others. WHO YOU ARE Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Requirements

  • B.S. degree in agriculture or related discipline
  • Excellent understanding of Bayer germplasm, traits, and strong understanding of crop protection in the assigned geography
  • Makes recommendations and develops enhanced agronomic systems
  • Excellent technical & sales support (regional influence)
  • Obtain and maintain a pesticide applicator certification in the state(s) within the territory

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development or R D related roles, or M.S.(8 years) or Ph.D. (4 years) in Agriculture or related discipline. Degree must be completed by start date.
