About The Position

WUCF: WUCF is Central Florida’s trusted PBS station, delivering impactful media that changes lives. From thought-provoking documentaries to engaging dramas, children’s educational shows to arts and culture specials, WUCF brings the best of PBS and local content right to your screen. Broadcasting from the University of Central Florida, WUCF pairs nationally acclaimed PBS content with original local productions like Florida Road Trip, spotlighting the people, places, and issues that shape our community. Since 2012, WUCF has carried forward the mission of public media to educate, inform, and connect Central Florida. The Opportunity: WUCF seeks applicants for a Producer to join their team. This position is an opportunity to contribute to the creation of content for WUCF's most popular local program, Florida Road Trip. Working with the program Executive Producer, this position will help shape the look and feel of the program through a producer's attention to research, detail, and curiosity, as well as videographer's eye for composition and lighting. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).

Nice To Haves

  • Production experience in an internship or professional setting, including recording and editing.
  • Experience with research and writing for film or television production.
  • Familiarity with Adobe software systems.
  • Experience in creating engaging digital content for various platforms.
  • Experience conducting or assisting with research at the college level.

Responsibilities

  • Shoot and edit on WUCF provided equipment.
  • Research and pitch stories that align with content strategies and goals.
  • Writes and edits scripts under deadline.
  • Video edit content for broadcast and digital.
  • Support production in the studio and the field.
  • Collaborates with the team to create new programs and services to help further the WUCF mission and vision.
  • Other duties as assigned.
