About The Position

The primary purpose of this position requires an individual to be self-sufficient in quoting, writing and issuing new personal lines insurance policies. This position requires a sales oriented person with the ability to provide superior customer service, self-generate new business, and provide prompt service and response to referrals from our partners at Peoples Bank. Compensation for this position is a combination of a base salary plus commissions earned on new business written.

Requirements

• Associates degree or equivalent experience.
• Candidate must be a licensed P&C insurance agent.
• Sales and service experience required.
• Travel required to attend agency and client meetings and trainings

Nice To Haves

• Minimum 5 years of insurance experience preferred.
• Currently has or is pursuing insurance designations (CISR,CIC, etc) preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to multi task and manage time effectively.
• Proficient knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for self-generating new business through active prospecting and community involvement.
• Will promptly respond to referrals from banking and investment partners.
• Provide each client/prospect with a complete review of their risks and coverage desired.
• Present proposals/follows up with prospects. Duties include quoting, writing and issuing new personal lines insurance policies.
• Completes all applications for placement of coverage with insurers.
• Manages renewal policies following company procedures.
• Attends meetings with insurance, banking and investment partners, as required.
• Responsible for front-line underwriting for insurance carriers.
• Responsible for production goals as assigned.
• Will perform special projects as assigned.
