Requirements

  • Fresh produce handling (rotation, freshness checks, crisping process, labeling requirements).
  • Regulatory requirements (sanitation, food safety, weights and measures).
  • Read, retain, and follow guidelines/policies; execute weekly plans with minimal oversight.
  • Safely receive, move, and prepare product (including bulky items) using hand trucks or pallet jacks.
  • Maintain clean, safe work areas; perform temp checks and continuous floor inspections.
  • Consistent attendance; adherence to uniform and grooming standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality customer service aligned with company standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Train, schedule, and supervise produce clerks; write weekly schedules aligned to accurate sales forecasts.
  • Manage and achieve department financial budgets and goals; forecast weekly sales and track daily purchases.
  • Execute weekly marketing and merchandising plans; build and maintain attractive, compliant produce displays.
  • Perform daily inventory; order product and supplies to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure product freshness and code-date compliance; rotate stock and remove old/wet product as needed.
  • Receive deliveries; move bulky items safely using a hand truck or pallet jack; prepare product via company crisping process.
  • Address and resolve customer issues professionally; inform customers about products, provide samples, and promote sales.
  • Maintain price accuracy and signage; perform twice‑daily temperature checks and uphold sanitation/food safety standards.
  • Keep sales floor and backroom clean and safe (floors, sinks, racks, equipment); continuously monitor for spills/debris.
