Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service.
  • Assist customers by making product suggestions.
  • Use suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store announcements, and one‑on-one interactions.
  • Answer and respond appropriately to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director when necessary.
  • Plan daily operations and monitor production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability goals.
  • Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce; build displays and rotate/discard outdated or spoiled product.
  • Ensure cleanliness of work areas and overall department.
  • Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays.
  • May oversee the operation and maintenance of the Salad Bar (where applicable) and Fresh‑Made offerings.
  • Ensure adherence to all department standards and requirements related to Fresh Made and product freshness.
  • Enforce proper code dating for all products within the department.
  • Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance.
  • Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all department roles, including opening and closing duties.
  • Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees.
  • Train staff on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Identify and develop employees with potential for advancement.
  • Initiate personnel actions such as pre‑employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
  • Prepare sales and inventory reports; complete physical inventory every four weeks.
  • Control inventory levels to ensure product quantity, quality, and freshness in accordance with division directives.
  • Stock and rotate products; maintain and organize the produce cooler.
  • Control shrink and manage costs.
  • Implement correct product preparation techniques.
  • Operate related equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines.
  • Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, and inspecting product quality.
  • Report shortages, stock product, and ensure proper rotation.
