About The Position

Description Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Use suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in‑store announcements, and one‑on‑one interactions. Answer and respond appropriately to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and escalate to the Store Director when necessary. Department Operations Plan daily operations and monitor production processes in alignment with company procedures and profitability goals. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce; build displays and rotate/discard outdated or spoiled product. Ensure cleanliness of work areas and overall department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. May oversee the operation and maintenance of the Salad Bar (where applicable) and Fresh‑Made offerings. Ensure adherence to all department standards and requirements related to Fresh Made and product freshness. Enforce proper code dating for all products within the department. Staff Leadership & Training Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Demonstrate working knowledge of all department roles, including opening and closing duties. Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train staff on store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping requirements. Identify and develop employees with potential for advancement. Initiate personnel actions such as pre‑employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions. Inventory, Merchandising & Shrink Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; complete physical inventory every four weeks. Control inventory levels to ensure product quantity, quality, and freshness in accordance with division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain and organize the produce cooler. Control shrink and manage costs. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines. Receiving & Quality Control Perform receiving duties including breaking down loads, verifying orders using invoices, and inspecting product quality. Report shortages, stock product, and ensure proper rotation.
